Marco started fishing at a young age in the canal behind his family house. From that first cast, you could tell he was hooked, and from that point on, he made the decision to dedicate his life to chasing anything that swims.

 

After graduating from NMU in Marquette, MI, he scored his first guide job at a ranch in Creede, Colorado, fishing and exploring the Rio Grande and the local high mountain creeks. Following this, moved to his next position and home with the fishy folks at Big Sky Anglers in West Yellowstone, MT. This was trout heaven, and he was able to spend his time fishing and exploring the fabled waters of Yellowstone Park, the Madison River, and the Henry's Fork. This time spent out west forever changed the way he approaches water, allowing him to soak in techniques from of the fishiest people to ever wade a river. Marco now resides full-time in Traverse City, MI, and works with the great team at The Northern Angler. He can primarily be found on the Manistee River, but he also ventures out to the many lakes and rivers throughout northern Michigan. Michigan.

 

Marco has a passion for all species but especially loves the challenge of swinging flies for steelhead. He has been fortunate enough to fish many of the famous waters in the Pacific Northwest, and still makes an annual pilgrimage with friends to the waters around the Skeena.

 

Marco has hosted a group down Jurassic Lake in Southern Patagonia to fish for the large rainbows in Strobel Lake. He also loves every chance he gets to fish the flats for species like bonefish, permit, and tarpon. The most important things to him about his trips are that the people fishing have a safe, fun, and educational experience. Marco enjoys to teach the art of fly fishing to anyone from complete beginners to the most advanced anglers.
